Reward 2017 reloaded
Show me your Africa......
Hello Everyone. Looking forward to a great conference
New name? Funky? Like it
My first reward conf at Standard Bank. Interested to see what the respective issues are for each of the regions. One of the greatest concerns to me personally is that I'm not fully aware of each of the countries specific challenges
I'm in the room. Checking in
Governance panel question
Can you explain the role of Compco in relation to Remco?
Excited to be here✌🏽
The process of approval in GBC is quite elaborius, We could do better by making improvements especially relating to the system upload and notifications for the respective approvers to release the requests.
Excellent recommendation Felix . I think automation is the way to go. Digitization is one of our key strategic themes as Standard Bank Group.
Country Remco numbers may vary from Group Remco e.g. bonus pool numbers, Country approves 10 but Group approves 12. How do we find balance between the numbers?
This is a very important point. Interested to know how we deal this
Skills transfer from expat to a local should be a key goal of the expat and should monitored regulalrly
# IA governance - Great comments from Funke and Khonde regarding how we ensure succession / transfer of skills takes place in Africa Regions
Skills transfer should tied back Reward / Bonus conversations.
Great conversations and questions all ! Together we need to focus on pro-activity, timely engagement with all stakeholders in the most collaborative and co-creation manner pertaining to IAs and reward as a whole. Let's do this team in the most effective and agile manner
Rightly said Felix, it needs to be a win win for both the expatriates and the Bank
Skills transfer needs to deliberate and appropriately mapped to accountability to ensure we better manage IA as a skills upgrade intervention
As the saying goes......what's not measured, will not be delivered
What is the process of seeking dispensation in terms of the benefits for IAs and short term assignees. Is Country allowed to vary the terms?
The Group IA policy is to be used as a guideline when deciding in country benefits. We recommend all countries to develop a IA benefits sheet specific to their location, using the Group policy as guidance. Happy to discuss further with you in person if needed.
We have embarked on a comprehensive documentation of development plans for talent. Let's use the same in ensuring that the development plan for the successors is actualised. This will underscore skills transfer and readiness for the next leaders.
Funky Amobi, where are you?
Right here oooooooo
Day 2, energy levels still up. Coming up, Miles Kubheka, Ampie and KB, spotlight on timelines with me Anina, Nevan, and Wilson, spotlight on market data with the Reward trio of Dhiren, Paulo and Andre then cocktails by the pool later with more of your colleagues from center coming by. Show me your Africa!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
